GMHC works with trade unions in the workplace at branch, regional and national levels. We produce fact-sheets and information packs, set up and support health and safety campaigns, raise awareness, co-ordinate a network of health and safety representatives in the North West and are supported by a panel of industrial, legal and academic experts.<\/p>\n<p>This service is FREE to all workers \u2013 trade union members, safety reps, workers in non-union workplaces, homeworkers, young workers, the families of workers killed at work \u2013 and to community groups facing hazards in the Greater Manchester area who campaign locally for better workplace health and safety .<\/p>\n<p>Greater Manchester Hazards Centre is part of a national network of Hazards Centres and other health and safety groups. The Hazards Campaign plans and runs campaigns nationally for safer workplaces. It provides confidential, free advice and support to sufferers of asbestos related diseases and their families. It draws together Hazards Centres, Occupational Health Advisory Services, safety reps, Trade Unions, specific safety campaigns, victims support groups and safety activists. Specific campaign groups include; the Construction Safety Campaign, FACK, asbestos victims and RSI support groups and the Hazards Magazine.<\/p>\n<p>The Hazards Campaign works by sharing information and skills. It campaigns on specific issues, acts as a national voice on safety, issues press releases, organises conferences and meetings. The Hazards Campaign establishes national initiatives including; <a href=\"https:\/\/gmhazards.org.uk\/index.php\/ev\/\">Workers Memorial Day<\/a>; lobbying MPs, MEPS, the government and statutory bodies like the HSE. The Campaign organises the annual Hazards Conference and holds quarterly meetings which are open to anyone sharing the aims of the campaign.
