New Training Safe App

Recently Greater Manchester Hazards Centre have launched a new Training Safe App aimed at young or inexperienced workers. The App provides health, safety and employment information and also if you register on the App an ability to ask questions about occupational health and safety to an adviser at Greater Manchester Hazards Centre. It is free to download – just search for Training Safe in the App Store. It will be useful for all workers – providing links to important and relevant information and a brief description of various workplace hazards.

Mick Holder attended the AGM of Greener Jobs Alliance on behalf of TUCAN (Trade Union Clean Air Network which was set up by Hazards Campaign and Greener Jobs Alliance and UCU in 2019)  He reports that thirty-five delates from trade unions, campaign orgnaisations, NGOs etc. gathered at UCU HQ today for the AGM of the Greener Jobs Alliance to discuss where we are on the issue of climate change and how we can push for quicker government action on the issue, greater trade union involvement and to aim for a just transition into a sustainable – and much healthier – future.

Speakers included Asad Rehman (War on Want), Sam Mason (PCS), Marianne Quick (UCU), Matt Lay (Unison) and Jim Mowatt (Unite).
